A brief overview of my last four years as a marketing director for a nonprofit, the struggles and triumphs of working with creative people (i.e. writers, videographers, designers), and what I've learned about myself through the process.
I'll also explain what a "creative" is, how they can be such an asset to organizations, and why most Type-A businesspeople struggle with motivating them.
Leading creative people requires a specific approach and sensitivity that doesn't come naturally to many business types, but can be learned. I'll share some basic concepts for how to lead creatives, including personal anecdotes and illustrations along the way.
