To Infinity and Beyond: The Basics of Online Video Production

It seems like every single device shoots video now - from Phones to Barbies to College Professors. But most of us aren't producing video for the web - either because it's complicated or out of laziness. If either of those reasons ring true for you let me just say, in the immortal words of GOB Bluth, COME ON!

My goal in this session is to give you usable, practical information about the various aspects of video production. There won’t be 7 Quick Steps to Making the Best Videos Ever!!!, instead there will be tips on what to think through as you go through each step, places to find more specific information, and simple ways to increase your production quality. There will be a lot of information but it is my intention to walk you through the simplest possible video production workflow: Write > Shoot > Edit > Upload > Promote. Should there be time left, we'll have an open Q&A and I'll try to answer any specific questions.

Most of the information will apply to both production for YouTube/Vimeo/etc. as well as Video-Blogging (or, if you prefer, which I most definitely do not, "vlogging"). I am a full-time freelance video producer and motion designer, and I hope to teach this session because I'm tired of all the crappy videos people put online, I'd like to see more well-done videos on the web. Also because I'm a big Toy Story fan and I'll use any excuse possible to quote it.
