Nashville Rising: Applying lessons from the flood toward a better city

Where were you when you realized it was more than rain? Were you shocked? Stuck? Scared? And upon reflection, do you realize what you actually were? You were connected. Committed. Courageous.

This session will explore how - during last May's flood - social tools, mobile platforms, excellent content and reporting, and a pride unique to Middle Tennessee illustrated we are all Nashvillians and we are all journalists.

I'll discuss how lessons from the flood can help us tackle ongoing civic, political and social issues. We don't have to wait for a natural disaster to create a better Nashville together.
